A PDO thread lift is a “gold standard” non-surgical treatment for facial rejuvenation. The threads are inserted to gently reposition the skin on the face and neck, triggering natural collagen regeneration over time. PDO (short for polydioxanone) is an absorbable synthetic surgical material that restores sagging tissues to a youthful position and stimulates skin regeneration.
What is a PDO thread lift like to experience?
The procedure starts with a full evaluation of your skin condition and a conversation about what you hope to achieve. The actual procedure is not painful, as the area where the threads are inserted is numbed with local anesthesia. Once numbed, the threads are inserted just below the skin surface, the tissues repositioned and anchored to create a very natural-looking lift.
The PDO threads are attached to a long cannula, which is carefully pushed through the tissues beneath the facial skin. Once the thread has reached its designated position, the cannula is removed. The thread remained suspended under the tissues, acting as an upward anchor. This lifting process will be repeated with as many threads as are needed for your customized procedure.
In most cases, the entire procedure takes less than an hour to complete.
