How Does the Pearl Fractional Laser Work?
Pearl Fractional is a minimally invasive ablative fractional laser that targets the signs of aging with controlled energy. It stimulates collagen production while exposing only a fraction of the skin to the laser. Damaged tissue is targeted by making a matrix of tiny holes in the epidermis, the skin’s topmost layer, and penetrating deeper into the underlying dermis. This triggers the body’s “healing mode,” in which new collagen and skin cells are born. The immediate result is smoother, softer skin and over time, fine lines and wrinkles fill with new cells, and the underlying collagen contracts, giving skin a tighter, more youthful appearance.

What is Recovery Like with Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Five days to one week later, your skin will dry and peel. Beneath the shed layer, rejuvenated skin will be pink. As with other ablative lasers, treatment recovery with the Pearl Fractional laser generally lasts two weeks. During this time, swelling, redness, and a sunburn-like sensitivity are normal side effects.
