Latisse® is a medication that can make your eyelashes longer, thicker, and darker. It is the only medication approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for inadequate eyelashes. In addition to its effectiveness, it’s also easier and safer than relying on fake eyelashes with harsh adhesives.
How does Latisse® work?*
Latisse® is a bimatroprost ophthalmic solution in 0.03% concentration. Its active ingredient is similar to a natural chemical already found in your body, and it encourages eyelash growth. Latisse® was discovered by accident – its active ingredient is also used as a glaucoma medication, and eyelash growth was discovered to be a side effect of the medicine.
How do I apply Latisse®?*
Latisse® is applied every night. You should wash your hands thoroughly and remove any eye makeup and contact lenses. Use the applicator that comes with the product and apply the medication along your lash line, blotting away any excess with a tissue. Be sure to follow the directions carefully. Latisse® should be applied to your upper eyelids only.
Are there any side effects?*
Side effects of Latisse® are minor and uncommon, but might include dry eyes, itchy eyes, and darkened eyelids. These side effects should lessen over time.
When will I see results?*
It may take several weeks to see results*. Once you stop using Latisse®, your lashes will return to their original state.
